The Lavender Field at Maize Valley suffered an unimaginable amount of winter damage this past winter.  At least 25% of the entire field is completely dead, and the remaining plants are in very bad shape.  Usually by early to mid June the plants are flush with new growth and starting to bloom.  That is not the case this year.  We are hopeful that the plants that are still alive, will eventually make a full recovery – but that process will take at least 1 – 2 years.

The field will not be open for daily u-pick for the summer of 2022.  We do plan to have the field open on the two Lavender Festival Dates – please follow us on facebook, or check back here for more updates as the season progresses.

The 2022 Lavender Festival dates are June 25 & July 2.

Lavender is a very fragrant and beautiful plant.  The aroma of fresh cut lavender has a calming, soothing effect.  The blossoms can also be easily dried to enjoy in your home all year, the aroma lingers in the dried flowers for a year or more.
