1st Lt. Ashley White Freedom 5K

Join us on Saturday , June 23, 2018 for this cross country style 5K race that weaves through Maize Valley vineyards and Moore’s Christmas Tree Farm.  The race serves to honor and remember 1st Lt. Ashley White who was killed during combat operations in Kahdahar Province, Afghanistan on October 22, 2011.  Register online here.

100% of all proceeds go to a scholarship foundation at Marlington High School.  The race starts at 8 am.  Day of registration opens at 7 am.

Ashley was assigned to the 230^th Brigade Support Battalion, 30^thHeavy Brigade Combat Team, North Carolina National Guard, Goldsboro, NC and served as a member of a Cultural Support Team attached to a Joint Special Operations Task Force in Afghanistan.   Ashley’s actions exemplify the highest commitment to duty, honor, and country. In every instance she served with distinction in support of the Task Force and our great nation.
