DESCRIPTION:Megasaurus & Transaurus at Maize Valley!! \n\n\n\n\nThat’s right. . . .MEGASAURUS is coming back to Maize Valley!!!  And NEW this year – he is bringing his brother Transaurus\, who like Megasaurus\, also has an appetite for pumpkin filled cars. \nTransaurus will be here October  1st & 2nd performing a show very similar to the ones that Megasaurus will do on October 15. \nTransaurus will perform TWO (2) SHOWS on Saturday October 1st at 2:00 & 6:30 and ONE on Sunday October 2nd at 3:00. \nMegasaurus will perform TWO shows on Saturday October 15th at 2:00 & 6:00 !!! \nMegasaraus is a giant fire breathing\, car crushing dinosaur that performs across the United States at Monster Jam Truck Shows and other events.  Megasaurus has delighted and entertained visitors at Maize Valley the last 5 years during our fall harvest season.  His show typically involves him “eating” two cars\, one which is filled with pumpkins.  You might say he makes “pumpkin pie”. \nPlease note this event is on of our biggest events of the year. Campfire site reservations will probably sell out.  We reserve the right to close access to the grounds at any time if volume of cars/people exceeds our capacity. Due to these shows\, the Pumpkin Cannon and wagon ride schedules may be altered or delayed.  Last pumpkin cannon demonstration and wagon ride to the pumpkin patch is at dusk or about 6:00 pm normally. Wagons continue to make loops around the farm till 9:00 pm.  Pumpkin Cannon\, NASHOG Pig Races and kids animal train also cease at approximately 6:00 pm. \nAdmission these days will be $15.00 per person and includes the Megasaurus and Transaurs Shows as well as all of the regular fall harvest activities. No Discounts/No Coupons/No group discounts. \n\nAs always all outside activities at Maize Valley do depend upon what Mother Nature dishes out so please stay in touch either by phone or follow us on our Facebook page.

DESCRIPTION:Megasaurus & Transaurus at Maize Valley!! \n\n\n\n\nThat’s right. . . .MEGASAURUS is coming back to Maize Valley!!!  And NEW this year – he is bringing his brother Transaurus\, who like Megasaurus\, also has an appetite for pumpkin filled cars. \nTransaurus will be here October  8th & 9th performing a show very similar to the ones that Megasaurus will do on October 15. \nTransaurus will perform TWO (2) SHOWS on Saturday October 8th at 2:00 & 6:30 and ONE on Sunday October 9th at 3:00 \nMegasaurus will perform TWO shows on Saturday October 15th at 2:00 & 6:00 !!! \nMegasaraus is a giant fire breathing\, car crushing dinosaur that performs across the United States at Monster Jam Truck Shows and other events.  Megasaurus has delighted and entertained visitors at Maize Valley the last 5 years during our fall harvest season.  His show typically involves him “eating” two cars\, one which is filled with pumpkins.  You might say he makes “pumpkin pie”. \nPlease note this event is on of our biggest events of the year. Campfire site reservations will probably sell out.  We reserve the right to close access to the grounds at any time if volume of cars/people exceeds our capacity. Due to these shows\, the Pumpkin Cannon and wagon ride schedules may be altered or delayed.  Last pumpkin cannon demonstration and wagon ride to the pumpkin patch is at dusk or about 6:00 pm normally. Wagons continue to make loops around the farm till 9:00 pm.  Pumpkin Cannon\, NASHOG Pig Races and kids animal train also cease at approximately 6:00 pm. \nAdmission these days will be $15.00 per person and includes the Megasaurus and Transaurs Shows as well as all of the regular fall harvest activities. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun weekend of fall fun on October 14 & 15\, 2017 when we feature our Maize Valley Oktoberfest Beer complete with a commemorative Oktoberfest glass.   The origins of Oktoberfest date back to the year 1810 in Munich Germany.  Today\, this festival is the largest in the world with over 6 million guests attending each year.  Maize Valley’s Oktoberfest (slightly scaled down from the Munich festival)  will not only feature our Oktoberfest beer\, but also our Pumpkin Cannon Ale – a fall favorite!  Food vendors will be well stocked with German Style Bratwurst and Sauerkraut.   All of our fall festivities will be in full swing including wagon rides\, pig races\, corn maze\, pumpkin patch\, pumpkin cannon\, and so much more.  Click here to learn about all that Maize Valley offers in the fall!  \nThe History of Oktoberfest \n\n\n\n\n\nCrown Prince Ludwig\, later to become King Ludwig I\, was married to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on 12th October 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. The fields have been named Theresienwiese (“Theresa’s fields”) in honor of the Crown Princess ever since\, although the locals have since abbreviated the name simply to the “Wies’n”. \nHorse races in the presence of the Royal Family marked the close of the event that was celebrated as a festival for the whole of Bavaria. The decision to repeat the horse races in the subsequent year gave rise to the tradition of the Oktoberfest. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Oktoberfest continues in 1811\n\nIn 1811 an added feature to the horse races was the first Agricultural Show\, designed to boost Bavarian agriculture. The horse races\, which were the oldest and – at one time – the most popular event of the festival are no longer held today. But the Agricultural Show is still held every three years during the Oktoberfest on the southern part of the festival grounds. \nIn the first few decades the choice of amusements was sparse. The first carousel and two swings were set up in 1818. Visitors were able to quench their thirst at small beer stands which grew rapidly in number. In 1896 the beer stands were replaced by the first beer tents and halls set up by enterprising landlords with the backing of the breweries. \nThe remainder of the festival site was taken up by a fun-fair. The range of carousels etc. on offer was already increasing rapidly in the 1870s as the fairground trade continued to grow and develop in Germany. \n\n\n\n\n\n184th Oktoberfest 2017\n\nToday\, the Oktoberfest is the largest festival in the world\, with an international flavor characteristic of the 21th century: some 6 million visitors from all around the world converge on the Oktoberfest each year. \nAnd since the Oktoberfest is still held on the Theresienwiese\, the locals still refer to the event simply as the “Wies’n”. So “welcome to the Wies’n” means nothing other than “welcome to the Oktoberfest”!

Half  a dozen balloons will take to the sky against the backdrop of all of our fall harvest activities.  Maize Valley does not offer balloon rides\, there are limited rides available through the balloonists – click here for complete details.  In event of inclement weather and the balloons do not lift off\, there will be no refunds given. \nTake a wagon ride\, navigate the corn maze\, visit the animals\, marvel at the pumpkin cannon and so much more. Take a break from the outdoor fun with a visit to our winery & NEW Craft Brewery.  Sip\, sample and taste the many wines and beers we offer.  With all of our fall fun\, your family will be entertained for hours. \nFull concessions including hot dogs\, hamburgers\, grilled Rueben’s and more\, plenty of beverages and of course wine and beer tasting will be offered all day. SUMMARY:Balloon Lift Off Details
DESCRIPTION:Rick Kohut\, our BalloonMeister\, will display his balloon gondola’s at about 3:30 PM so you can see what the balloonists and their guests fly in. This is a great photo opportunity especially for the children – they can get inside the basket and Mom and Dad can snap away! \nAround 4:30 pm\, additional pilots with their colorful hot air balloons will arrive and prepare for a possible flight from the winery between 5:15 – 6:15pm depending upon weather. Please note: Balloon inflation and launch is totally regulated by FAA guidelines and the weather. The winery has absolutely NO say as to when or if the balloons launch. In years past with good conditions\, the balloons have taken off between 5:30 and 6:15 PM.  If high winds or weather conditions prevent an actual flight\, sometimes these very experienced pilots will inflate their balloons and remain static on the ground for additional photo opportunities for all our guests. \nInterested in a balloon ride? Please contact Rick directly at 330-413-5587 or email him at rakoh77@yahoo.com for details. A balloon ride is $185.00 per person (this is discounted from the normal $225 fee). Basket space is commonly shared and a maximum number of rider slots are available on a first-contact basis. \nChildren under 12 years of age cannot ride; age 13-17 years must be accompanied by a parent. Payment is by cash or check only and is payable directly to your assigned pilot. Be aware that each pilot reserves the right to deny access to their aircraft to anyone who is not acceptably fit or capable of a flight… so please\, if you are planning on flying\, enjoy soft drinks\, tea or water for a couple of hours before take-off. You will be expected to sign a pilot insurance Waiver Release of Responsibility. Each pilot attending is highly experienced and is personally selected for this event. Flights and rides are never guaranteed as each pilot is in full command of his/her aircraft and has the discretion to choose to fly or not based on the conditions. \nIf you do schedule a flight\, you are to wear cotton clothing\, tennis shoes (no sandals or flip flops)\, and bring a light jacket just in case it gets chilly.
