Semi-Sweet Wines

The more residual sugar a wine has after fermentation, the sweeter it will taste. When more sugar is converted to alcohol, wine will taste dry. Halfway in between, you have semi-sweet wines, sometimes called “off-dry.”

Technically, dry wines contain less than 1% residual sugar, semi-sweet wines between .5-2% residual and wines above 5% are sweet.

Semi-sweet wines can offer the best of both extremes: sweet fruity flavors balanced by oaky acid or earthy tannins. Sample Maize Valley’s semi-sweet wines to strike the perfect balance.
