THE Pink Party is an annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser held by Maize Valley in support of the Susan G Komen Foundation. The Susan G Komen Foundation is the largest contributor to Breast Cancer Research in the world.
This fun evening is a celebration of life! The 2020 event will be held on May 12 from 6 – 9 pm, it features live music, wine/beer, hors d’oeuvres, raffle baskets, silent auction, live auction, wine pull and more. Every guest receives a commemorative wine glass to take home! Tickets are only $20 each and can be purchased here or at the door that evening.
Breast Cancer has had a profound impact on the family of Maize Valley – current owners Michelle Bakan, and her mother, Donna Vaughan are both breast cancer survivors. Donna’s sister is also a survivor. Donna’s sister-in-law and mother-in-law passed from breast cancer. Michelle’s sister in law also passed from breast cancer.
Michelle and her husband Bill have made commitments since 2010 to participate in the Susan G Komen 3 day walk for a cure. In order to participate, they must each raise $2300 and then they are permitted to walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days to show their support for all who have been impacted by this terrible disease. The Pink Party is the annual fundraiser for Bill and Michelle to reach their goal – each year the friends of Maize Valley have helped us raise between $7,000 and $10,000!!!
